Easter with Carter

I went home for Easter and had a great time playing with Carter. He was sick all weekend but by Easter Day he was feeling much better. I took him on the church Easter Egg hunt because my sister wasn't feeling well. He had so many eggs they barely fit in his basket!

After church I was taking him to the restaurant we were going to. The whole way he kept saying, "I have to go to Krug Park, Regan. This isn't the path to Krug Park." I just kept driving and told him we were supposed to meet the rest of the family for lunch but he kept insisting that he had to go to Krug Park. Then, as I pull into the restaurant I get a call from his daddy saying they had to go to Krug Park for his side of the family's get together. I felt horrible because I just kept ignoring Carter when he knew what he was talking about all along!

Here's a picture of him dying Easter Eggs.

Boo Jayhawks!

Once again Carter has been saying "Boo Tigers." Over Spring Break he came over when I was watching the Mizzou game. My sister, brother-in-law and Carter all filled out their own National Championship bracket. Of course, Carter chose KU to win the entire thing, but surprisingly he chose Mizzou to win the game I was watching. When the game was over MU won and Carter jumped up and started screaming "Boo Tigers! Boo Tigers!" Danielle said, "No Carter. You want them to win for your bracket!" But of course he thought that was absurd that he would want MU to win anything so he continued on his rampage.

All I have to say is Mizzou made it to the Elite 8...unlike KU :)

Boxers

Carter has problems keeping his clothes on. For some reason he loves to feel free, so my sister decided to buy him some boxers to see what he thought. That night he was so amazed by the little hole in them for his hand! She tried to tell him it wasn't for his hand and that he would learn when he was older, but of course he wanted to know now! So his daddy had to take him to the bathroom to show him how the hole worked. Now he thinks he's so cool wearing boxers. The other day my family was out to lunch and someone asked what he was wearing. Carter pulled down his pants in the middle of the restaurant and yelled, "Boxers!!!" Everyone laughed and I'm sure thought our family was a little coo-koo. haha

Carter's Imagination

This weekend I went home to visit and spent quite a bit of time with Carter. He is very smart and can tell where we are going while we are in the car. He will say, "Is this the path to your house?" or "This is the way to Target. Are we going to Target?" We were driving to my house and we passed my Granny's house. He shouted, "There's Granny's house!" Then he said, "She's in the room with all the toys playing." This is funny because every time he goes to Granny's house she plays with him in that room. Later we passed my sister's house. He said, "There's Aunt Lindsay's house! She's reading a book or watching a movie right now." I thought it was so cute that he imagines what that person is doing and it is always something they are actually likely to be doing!

I think it's funny how he can get so excited about the smallest things. His daddy will sometimes move his bed mattress into the living room for the night and they have a "camp out." Carter gets so excited and he will talk about it for days and days, because he had a camp out with his daddy. I miss being young and loving the smallest things.

The greatest toy store

While in New York City this past week I visited FAO Schwartz. The store was amazing and the whole time I thought about how much fun Carter would be having there! They had every kind of toy imaginable. They had so much I couldn't even buy him anything because I had no clue what to choose. I played on the Big Piano though. It was so much fun! I decided next time I go to New York City I will bring Carter along to he can play on the piano too!

Children are so blunt!

The other day my sister was getting ready for work. Carter came into the kitchen and said, "You don't look good today." She felt so horrible and when she looked in the mirror and asked her husband he said she looked like a librarian. Sometimes I wish I could be as blunt as Carter about things. I guess since I'm not 3 years old I wouldn't be able to get away with that though.

When you grow up...

The other night my sister was playing basketball with Carter. He said, "Mommy, you are actually pretty good at playing basketball! You should be a basketball player when you grow up."
I thought this was adorable that he thinks she still has some growing up to do and that basketball would be a possible career choice for her.
